Ralph Joseph MetzPrincess Anne -Ralph Joseph Metz, 78, of here passed away on Wednesday January 4, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Metz was born on May 16, 1938 to the late Ralph and Katherine Turney Metz. Mr. Metz was a retired and decorated United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal 7th Award, Vietnam Service Medal, RVN Campaign Medal, and RVN Cross of Gallantry Unit Citation w/Palm, 2 bars. He was a member of several veteran organizations such as the American Legion, VFW, Moose Lodge, and East Side Men's Club. He enjoyed going to car shows. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jean Francis Marshall Metz. 7 Children, Joseph Paul Metz and his wife Michele of Millsboro, Howard Briddelle (Cookie) of Princess Anne, Md., Deborah Hodgdon(Steve) of Salisbury, Kimberly Bruce of Florida, Sonya Neeley, James Briddelle, and Anna Lunsford(Ronnie) all of Tennessee and 16 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Shirley Baker and her husband Donnie of Willards, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers and a sister. A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, Md. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening January 10, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Pastor Dennis Bradford will officiate. Interment will be at Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery in Hurlock, Md. at 2 P.M. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent in his memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
