Ralph E. BorerBETTSVILLE: Ralph E. Borer, 75, of Bettsville, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Toledo Hospital.Ralph was born on January 13, 1942 in Fremont, to the late Rudolph and Edna (Shrader) Borer. He married Sherie (Humbert) on June 29, 1963 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tiffin and she survives in Bettsville.Survivors include his children, Amy (Perry) Lynch of Bettsville, Vicki (Mike) Kimmet of Kansas, grandchildren, Zeile, Lucas, Ashley, Mekenna, Alyssa, Madison, great-grandchildren, Braydin and Brynn and a sister, Faye Jenkins of Tiffin.Ralph was the owner/operator of Borer SOHIO in Bettsville and he and his wife Sherie started the Sun-Days Dairy Bar in Bettsville. He later retired after 29 years from Rexam Can Plant in Fremont. Ralph was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. He loved being down around the lake boating and fishing, watching OSU football and Nascar, spending time with his family and most of all his grandchildren. He worried more about his grandchildren then he ever did about his daughters. Ralph was a 1960 graduate of the Bettsville High School.Ralph was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Borer.Funeral services for Ralph will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Bettsville, with Nancy
Smith and Pat Danner officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, from 2-6 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services on Monday, at Pleasant Union cemetery in Old Fort.Memorial contributions may be made to the or to the Zion United Church of Christ in Bettsville.
