Phyllis F. Homan1923 - 2013Phyllis F. Homan, 90, of Kenosha, died at her residence on Monday, June 3, 2013, with her loving daughter, Mary Kathryn at her side.A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was born on Jan. 5, 1923, the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Perticara) Ventura. Phyllis attended local schools and obtained a business degree from U.W. Parkside. On June 25, 1949, at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Clifton D. Homan. They were blessed with 55 years of marriage and two children. Cliff preceded her in death on July 14, 2004.Phyllis worked for her brother, Julius Ventura as the Credit Manager at Joerndt and Ventura Appliance Center for many, many years. More than anything she loved her family and was dedicated to her Catholic faith. Her passions included hosting dinner parties, attending the opera in Chicago, listening to classical music, reading, gardening and getting together monthly for "club" meetings with lifelong friends. She was a warm and loving mother, aunt and friend to many.Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Mary Kathryn Piscatelli of Kenosha, a sister, Ida Russo and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Mark D. Homan; two sisters, Lena Zarletti and Lorraine Ventura and three brothers, Domenic, James and Julius Ventura.Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 7, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 7117 14th Ave. Interment will take place in All Saints Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances would be appreciated.A special thanks to Phyllis nurse Deb as well as her special Caregivers at Casa Del Mare.
