Phil Keith Stafford, 58, of Flushing, New York, succumbed to cancer at his home surrounded by his family on November 30, 2017.

Phil is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 20 years; daughters, Elizabeth Thomas, Janet (Mike) Smith; son, Bill (Jane) Stafford; stepson, Calvin (Cynthia) Carlsen; parents, Will and Mary Stafford; brother, Bobby (Candice) Stafford; sisters, Susan Stafford and Wendy (Matt) Stafford; and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Phil was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to all. Phil loved sports and worked as a firefighter for 25 years until he was forced to give up the career he loved due to his illness. He enjoyed watching and playing sports and played football and baseball on the weekends. He also enjoyed movies and reading. Phil was always there to help friends with household projects, coaching sports, or whatever else they needed him for.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Jackson and Walters Funeral Home on Monday, December 4, 2017. Funeral services for Frank will be a St. Andrew’s United Church in Flushing on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society
