Peter H. FischerMcCONNELSVILLE: Peter H. Fisher, 81 of McConnelsville passed away peacefully on January 18, 2017 at The Morrison House while under the care of Genesis Hospice.Pete was born on September 9, 1935 in Nuernburg, Germany. He grew up in Munich, Germany and at age 25 on January 1, 1957 he moved to the United States. He became a citizen of the USA on June 25, 1962. He and his wife Donna were the owners of Swiss Cleaners and Pete's Alteration in Columbus until his retirement. He continued working for UPS and Big Lots until his second retirement in 2004. He was part owner of the Barevarian Family Inn in McConnelsville. He worked as a Master Taylor for Woodhouse Lynch. He was a member of the Minnicore, the Swiss Club, German Club and the Port Morgan Boat Club. He was also a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Stovertown.Pete is survived by his with Donna Fisher whom he married July 4, 1985; his three daughters Linda (Monte) Entler, Jenny Lacey and Kristina (Mark) Shannan all of Columbus; his step-daughters Delores V. (Steven) Krupp of Galena, OH, Rebecca Taylor of Columbus and Cynthia (Leonard) Hicks of Mt. Sterling; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, twelve step-great-grandchildren and two step-great-great grandchildren and his nephews and great nephews in Munich, Germany and a niece in Los Angeles.Pete is preceded in death by his parents Hans and Katie (Webber) Fischer; his step-mother who raised him Kate Kastel Fisher; his step-son Ronnie Fischer and two sister Gerda Gabriel and Inge Reinisch.In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions in Peter's name to Genesis Hospice or to the Stovertown Lutheran Church.Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday at 3 pm at the St. John Lutheran Church of Stovertown, 6575 Center Road, Roseville, with Pastor Albert Lease and Pastor Tim Patton officiating. He will be laid to rest in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery in Stovertown.
