Sorensen, Peter C.Peter Carl Sorensen, 72, of Fond du Lac, passed away on August 7, 2017 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born on March 8, 1945, the son of Reinhardt and Winifred (Anderson) Sorensen.Peter taught at Sabish Middle School for 33 years. He was a high school and college volleyball official and a club volleyball coach. Peter was active in the Fond du Lac County Historical Preservation, the Fond du Lac Community Theater and a member of the ROMEOs.Peter volunteered for the King Veteran's Home fish boil and for a grief support group in Oshkosh, where he became a mentor for many others.Peter was a collector of baseball cards and Olympic memorabilia and attended numerous Olympics. He was also very proud to be a season ticket holder for Badger Girls volleyball.Peter loved to fish and going to his sister's cottage up north. Most of all, he was very proud of his nieces and nephews.Peter is survived by his siblings Richard (Kathleen) Sorensen and Barbara (Dale) Pawlowski Augustine; six nieces and nephews Colleen (Charlie) Nabhan, Nancy (Sean) Willson, Derek (Kari) Sorensen, Nicholas (Danielle) Sorensen, James (Elena) Augustine and Sarah (Stew) Williams; and many beloved friends. Peter was preceded in death by his parents.Visitation: Peter's family will greet relatives and friends at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E.
