Perry Ward, known to his friends as Glenn, passed away peacefully with his wife at his side, Saturday morning after losing his battle with cancer. Glenn, a resident of Alamogordo, was born on February 7th, 1947 in Hartford, Kentucky, and was the adopted son of Charles Henry and Nell (Bray) Ward.Glenn was a 1966 graduate of Austin High School in El Paso, Texas. He then went on to a 38-year career as an electronics technician at White Sands Missile Range, retiring in August 2005. Within the next few months Glenn became a Realtor and began a new career in Real Estate, working at Affinity Real Estate until December of 2011.Glenn was active in the Alamogordo community. He served as ambassador for Alamogordo Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of Kiwanis Club of Alamogordo, as well as, serving as Treasurer of Alamogordo Astronomy Club. He was also active in Singles of Otero County, where he met his wife of 10 years, Diana.Survivors include; his wife Diana Lynn Ward of Alamogordo, his son Shawn Lee (Candy) Ward of Alamogordo, his sister Carol Ward Cloer of Bloomfield, Sunnye Ward of El Paso, Texas, step-son Donald Lee Montgomery (companion Valinda Shelton) of Alamogordo, step-daughter Susan Gale (Buddy) Corbet of Carlsbad, step-son Mark David (Mitzi) Montgomery of La Luz, step-daughter Mona Dawn Montgomery (companion David Lawrence) of Tularosa, step daughter Angela Danice Basurto of Alamogordo, and Sister-in-law Paula Ward of Livermore, California. Glenn was also blessed with 10 grand-children and 5 great grand-children.Glenn was preceded in death by his father, Charles Henry Ward; his mother Nell Bray; his brother Ronald Bruce Ward, first wife Janeta Sue Montgomery, and step-daughter in law Kelly Montgomery.A memorial service will be held at Hamilton O'Dell funeral home in Alamogordo New Mexico, at 10 am Friday July 14th, 2017, with The Reverend Jack Moffatt officiating. A reception will be held immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Alamogordo. P.O.
