It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Peggy Hayes, born on September 5, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. Peggy passed away on March 31, 2025, at University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy is survived by her two children, Gregory H. Hayes and Valerie A. Hayes, and her partner, Dyson. She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, which will forever be cherished by her 7 grandchildren.
Peggy was a graduate of John Hay High School and spent her career as a dedicated homemaker. She had a passion for spending time with her sister, Theresa Bishop, and her nieces. Peggy's conversations were filled with life lessons, laughter, and wisdom, and she treasured every moment spent with her family.
One of Peggy’s greatest joys in life was connecting with others. She had an open heart, always willing to chat, share stories, and offer advice. Her smile was a source of love and light to all who knew her, and her ability to make those around her feel valued and loved was unmatched.
Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Devon Hayes, her parents, Burl and Isabelle Dyson, and her siblings: Henry Franklin, Joseph Jones, Ellis “June Bug” Fountain, and Ruthie Mae Thomas. Though she is no longer physically with us, Peggy's love and the lessons she imparted will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Peggy. You will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love and gratitude.
