Hall, Peggy Age 88, was born May 18, 1927 in Roff, Oklahoma. One of four daughters and one son born to Agnew and Marzelle Standridge, she grew up and graduated high school in Stratford, Oklahoma. Soon after, in order to help in the war effort (WWII), she moved to Washington, D.C. and worked in the Pentagon as a receptionist. Her favorite story of those times was recounting when actor/Air Force officer, Jimmy Stewart came into her office. She said he was as nice and charming in person as in the movies. Shortly after the end of the war, Peggy moved back home and married John McClaren. On June 7, 1950, her first son, John "Mike" McClaren was born. The marriage did not last and after her divorce, Peggy moved to Oklahoma City as a single, working mother. In 1953, she married Percy Hall. Her second son, Russell Hall, was born on December 14, 1954. They settled in Duncan, Oklahoma. In the 1960's, Peggy attended the Univerity of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. She received her degree in education and began teaching 4th and 5th grade. She was a great teacher, but health issues forced her to retire early. Percy passed away on May 16, 1998. Peggy moved to Wichita, Kansas in 2003 to be closer to family. She passed away on December 21, 2015. She will be remembered for her fierce independence, her love for teaching and her devotion to her husband and children. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Via Christi Ridge Village Chapel, 3636 N. Ridge Rd. Final inurnment will take place at a later date in the Resthaven Cemetery, Duncan, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's Association, 1820 E.
