Pearl GilbertAGE: 94 • NeptunePearl (Bennett) Gilbert, 94 of Neptune, passed away peacefully at CareOne in Wall on Monday July 10th.Pearl who preferred to be called Pat was born on April 22, 1923 and raised in Neptune. She attended Bradley Park school and worked at a few local businesses including the Woolworth five & dime in Asbury Park & a coat factory in Neptune.In the early 1940's she met and married James Earl (Gil) Gilbert. They lived a happy life together in which time she became a loving and caring mother to five children. Being such a caring and supportive person she also became like a second mom to her friends daughters Patty and Brenda Lach being there for them and teaching them life skills while their mom was at work.After her daughters grew up and had children of their own Pat continued to show her love & caring support to all of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them whenever she could either just playing board or video games or hanging out outside on nice summer days with them. She also had a love for animals especially all of her dogs that she had over the years and in her free time made sewing, knitting & crocheting her hobby which she became very skilled at.She is survived by her sister Hazel Menke, five children, Jane and her husband George Ross, James (Sonny) Gilbert and his wife Margaret, Mary Jane and her husband John Bovie, Barbara and her husband William Bry, and Earl Gilbert, six grandchildren, George Ross and his wife Jen, John Bovie, Kim and her husband Paul Ling, Kelly Bovie, Tammy and her husband Jeff Wolff, and Billy Bry, and numerous great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband Gil passing in 1994, she was predeceased by her parents, along with three brothers & three sisters.A 10am graveside interment will be held Monday, July 24, 2017 at Wayside Cemetery, 1229 West Park Ave, Ocean, NJ.Francioni, Taylor & Lopez Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.
