Paula Marie Zorawski, 40, passed away on Sept. 23, 2016, at her home in Anchorage, Alaska. Paula was born on Aug. 13, 1976, in Flushing Queens, N.Y. She moved to Alaska in 2004, making Anchorage her lifelong home.Upon moving to Alaska, Paula gained employment at J.C. Penney, working for the company until 2009. She later worked for other popular retail stores including Sephora, Burlington Coat Factory and Nordstroms. When she wasn't working you could find her volunteering at Government Hill Elementary School.Paula loved traveling, making crafts, spending time with her family and "enjoying life to the fullest." She was always eager to learn new things and how things worked.Her family states: "Paula had many special qualities. She was such a giving and forgiving person. She was an excellent mother, and had a way of making her friends and family feel like everything was going to be alright. She was Yani's Angel, from the first day the met, until her last breath."Paula is survived by her wife, Yani Morley; sons, Robert DeFrancesco and Paul "PJ" Zorawski; daughter, Madison R. Gentile-Zorawski; and mother, Rose Gentile.There will be a celebration of life on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2016, at La Cabana, 312 East 4th Avenue in Anchorage, upstairs, beginning at 4 p.m. Her cremated remains will be scattered in Hawaii and New York at a later date. Memorial bequests may be made to Yani Morley in c/o Paula Zorawski, 5644 Alora Loop, Anchorage, AK 99504.Arrangements were with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
