FLORENCE, Paul Gean Age 87, of Middletown, passed away on Saturday June 10, 2017. He was born on April 19, 1930 in Middletown, Ohio, the son of Raymond (Mose) and Bertie (Quiett) Florence. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (Mull) Florence of 66 years; 2 daughters, Connie (Bill) Lyons and Gale (Eric) Potter; 2 granddaughters, Michele Lyons (Mark) Pache and Bridgette Lyons (Chuck) Yager, 2 grandsons, Jason Potter and Kevin (Nicole) Potter; 5 great-grandchildren, Julia Pache, Paige and Preston Yager, and Landon and Aubriella Potter. Paul graduated from Lemon Monroe High School in 1949. He worked at Aeronca and retired from Monsanto Research Corporation (Mound Lab) in Miamisburg. Since 1941, Paul has been a faithful member of the Yankee Road First Church of God. He taught Sunday School for 51 years; was a member of the Board of Trustees, Men's Fellowship and choir; was a youth camp counselor, and participated in numerous other activities. For 9 years, he held services at the Liberty Nursing Home once a month. He also visited shut-ins at home and in the hospital each week. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Geneva Florence. He leaves behind many cousins, friends and church family. Visitation will be held at Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday June 14, 2017. Funeral services will be at Yankee Road First Church of God, 3029 Yankee Road at 10:00 am on Thursday June 15, 2017. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin Collins, Rev. Rodney Williams and Rev. Mac McConnell. Burial will follow at Woodside Cemetery, Middletown. Memorial contributions can be made to the Yankee Road First Church of God Sound Ministry. Condolences may be left for the family at
