Paul Aaron Johnson1929-2016Paul Aaron Johnson, 86, long term resident of Pensacola, FL passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2016 following a hard struggle with Parkinson's and Lung Cancer. Paul was born on November 20, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN to Hilmer and Esther Johnson.He is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Ruby Johnson. Paul was a devoted father to his three children Debbie Stewart, Steven Johnson (both residents of Pensacola), and Brian and Cheryl Johnson (both residents of Lakeland). He is also survived by his wives' son Danny and Kathy Ross; a loving grandfather to Melissa Cool, Jennifer( Taylour Johnson), Travis( Brittany Johnson), granddaughter-in-law Sarah Stewart; his wives' grandson Christopher and Katie Ross; and great grandfather to Ashley Cool, Summer Stewart, Beckett and Callum Johnson, and his beloved dogs Teddy and Baylee.Paul is pre-deceased by first wife of 45 years, Leslie Gail Johnson, sister Ginny Etem, son-in-law Tim Stewart, and grandson Paul Stewart, grandson-in-law Jeff Cool.Paul graduated from West High School in 1946 and attended University of Minnesota. He enlisted in the US Navy Pilot Cadet Core in 1949. After he received his wings in March 1952, he served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1953. Following 4 years of active Navy service, Paul returned to civilian life where he flew commercially for a petroleum company and worked as a purchasing agent for Federal Aircraft Works for 5 years. Paul continued to serve in the US Navy Reserves as a weekend warrior pilot. He remained active in the reserves to complete 20 years of service in the US Navy (1970). He then pursued a civilian career in sales in various capacities and positions. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the AMVETS Post 12 and SADSACKs organization. The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for all their care and love shown to Paul and family especially Cheryl, Megan & Carrisa.Visitation will be at NAMC Chapel at NAS Pensacola, on Wednesday November 23, from 10:30 to 11:30, with committal to follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:45.A reception will follow at AMVETS Post 12. 3220 Gulf Beach Hwy, Pensacola, FL 32507.Express your condolences in our guestbook at
