Patrick J. BurkeSt. Cloud Sept. 29, 1952 - April 16, 2017A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, St. Cloud for Patrick James Burke, 64, of St. Cloud who passed away at his home on Sunday, April 16, 2017.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hackensack, MN at a later date.Pat was born on September 29, 1952 in St. Cloud, MN to Edward and Pernina "Perky" Burke. He was raised in a loving home with his five siblings. Pat attended St. Mary's grade school, and Tech High School, graduating in 1970. His marriage to Kathleen (West) Connell was blessed by two children, Thomas and Edward. Pat worked as a bartender and a cab driver, enjoying jobs that allowed him to help old friends as well as making new friends. With his beard and twinkling eyes, he was known to many in the St. Cloud area as Santa's older brother. He had a life-long appetite for learning and reading. An avid chess player, Pat founded the Granite City Chess Club, and taught many children and adults how to play. Pat will be remembered for his compassion, love, and generosity.Pat is survived by his sons, Tommy of Wadena, and Eddy of Minneapolis; stepchildren Cherie Raatikka of Sartell, Melissa Starr of Duluth, and Merry Nims of Sebeka; grandchildren Cash, Aiden, Paige, Bryce, Zanie, Layne, and Oliver; his mom Perky of St. Cloud; siblings Marionne "Koko" Croake of New Kensington, PA, Mike of Houston, TX, and Peggy of Golden Valley; and many nieces and nephews.He is preceded in death by his father, Edward; stepson, Jamie; and siblings Perry and Nina.
