This obituary is administered by:

Patrick J. Hodge (aka Pit) was born in Elizabeth, NJ to Lester & Virginia Hodge on March 2, 1954. Pitattended the Roselle public school system all through high-school. As young child Pit loved baseball and would often be seen with a bat and ball everywhere he went. 

 

He was known to hit and throw the baseball a fifty-yard distance, by the age of four. The young men in the community were so intrigued with his baseball skills, that he could hit and throw the baseball fifty yards by the age of fours old. The teenage boys would give Pit a baseball at the of age of four, and say “Pit, let me see your arm.” 


Pit loved music and was exceptionally neat with his appearance and kept a very clean home. He is known by loved ones to have a heart of gold. He was loved by many and considered a legend for his fearless, trooper mentality who held his own very well. 

 

Pit is preceded by his mother and father Lester & Virginia Hodge, two brothers Lester and Frederick Hodge, and four sisters Leslie Richardson, Helena Cohen-Johnson, Valderia Hodge, and Anderia Glenn.

 

He is survived by his three sisters Virginia Hodge, Regina Hunter and Gladys Mohammed. Two children, son Derek Dower, and daughter Nikia Waller. Seven grand children and host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Patrick had a special niece; Ebanee Hodge, who absolutely adored him, and he adored Ebanee as well.
