A lived Welled Lived

Patricia Joanne (Long) Woodruff, daughter of Leland and Marion (Gray) Long passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 24, 2021 at the age of 89 years. Pat Woodruff was born October 23, 1931 in Aetna Township, Michigan. Her only sibling is Thomas Long who now resides with his wife Dee in Arizona. Many times they would visit along with their three kids, T.J., Debbie, and Jennifer, and numerous grand kids with her, and were always a special delight for her. Patricia graduated from school in Merritt Mi where her mother taught school. It was there that Pat met the love of her life Louis Earl Woodruff. They were married in the spring, 3-20-1951 and remained so for 59 years, until the passing of Lou in 2010. Pat earned an associate’s degree prior to her hiring at the State of Michigan Library Dept. in Lansing. She put in many long days dedicated to a job she excelled at. After retiring Pat and Lou spent their Golden Years traveling between her most loved home in Lansing, and their winter home in Central Pittsburgh. Pat leaves behind; two sons Steven (Sandy) Woodruff and Michael J. Woodruff. Pat leaves behind three grandchildren: Aaron Woodruff, Brandon Ostrander, and Jaime Canavan. Jaime's father Jim Canavan has been instrumental in helping keep appointments or just checking in on Pat before and after the passing of his wife Sheryl (Woodruff) Canavan on 8-13-17 in. I can't say enough about the help he provided for her. What I could have never expected, and what amazes me most though, is the daily attention Pat and Lou received from Kent G. a neighbor who took on the daily responsibilities of caregiver for them. He stepped up and made sure that their needs were always met. I can't begin to thank someone like him enough. Mom is going to be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know her. She was always ready with an exceptional meal for all, no matter what the occasion; but always felt that it didn't quite meet her expectations. Pat had a wonderful sense of humor and will be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local food bank, meals-on- wheels, or Cancer center.

You can to the family or in memory of Patricia Woodruff.
