Patricia "Pat" Bissett, 77, of Castroville passed away suddenly on January 10, 2015 with her children at her side. She was born in Salinas and moved to Castroville in 1958 after marriage. She resided in Castroville the remainder of her life.
Her lifelong love of horses was the reason she became a California State Humane Officer and dedicated many years to volunteering at Redwings Horse Sanctuary as well as serving on their board. She worked as the school secretary at Elkhorn School in the North Monterey County Unified School District until she retired 15 years ago. She loved animals, books and artistries, and was extremely creative with stain-glass, pottery and photography. All of her family and friends treasured the gifts she created for them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Doris Bissett, and her son-in-law, Jim Murphy.
She is survived by her son, Dan (Lisa) Bellone; daughter, Kellie Bellone Murphy; sister, Peggy Wenner; grandson, Jonathan Max Bellone; and her beloved dog, "Bella" who never left her side, as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved.
She is also preceded and survived by many true friends.
