Orine Terisea Webb, affectionately known as Judy, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2024. Born on September 12, 1949, in Kingston, Jamaica, Judy was the beloved daughter of Norman and Ena Webb and the sixth child in a family of nine. Raised in the picturesque hills of Mount Salem, St. Andrew, Judy's early years were shaped by her close-knit family and vibrant community.
Judy's education began at St. George’s Girls School, continued at North Street Seventh-day Adventist School, and culminated at Camperdown High School in Kingston. Her journey took her to New York in 2005, where she briefly settled before returning to her cherished island home due to her illness.
Judy was known for her kindness, affection, and unique spirit. She had a remarkable ability to touch the lives of those around her, especially the children in her neighborhood, who fondly called her Aunty Judy. She delighted in spending time with them, often organizing beach picnics and ensuring they had a wonderful day filled with joy. Her love for the ocean and swimming was a defining part of her life.
Judy was deeply devoted to her family, and the loss of her son, Winston Nicholas McFarlane, in his twenties, was a profound sorrow. She honored his memory by marking his birthday each year. She also mourned the passing of her mother, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond, and her siblings Beverly, Calle, Donald, and Rudolph, who preceded her in death.
Baptized into the Seventh-day Adventist Church while in New York, Judy's faith remained a cornerstone of her life, even as illness prevented her from attending church as often as she wished. Though she struggled with grief and loss, her faith provided comfort and solace.
Judy is survived by her siblings Noel (Violet), Vernon, Cassilda (Stanley), and Edgar (Faith), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, “adopted” children, and many dear friends. Her legacy of love, generosity, and warmth will be cherished by all who knew her.
Judy's soul now rests in peace, awaiting the day when she will be reunited with her beloved son, parents, siblings, and other loved ones in the presence of the Lord.
