"If a man dies, can he live again? I will wait all the days of my compulsory service Until my relief comes. You will call, and I will answer you." - (Job 14:14, 15)
Oliver Nichols, 87, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, fell asleep in death on Monday, July 17, 2023. He was born October 22, 1935 in Atlantic City, New Jersey to Elnora (Harris) and Robert Nichols, Sr.
"Soso" as he was affectionately known and called by family and friends, attended Atlantic City Public Schools and would later serve in the United States Air Force. Yet his pride came from his time spent drawing portraits and scenes.
Though met with some difficulty, Oliver endeavored to spend much time reading as a form of self-education and literary curiosity. Such an endeavor led to his discovery of God's name found within the pages of the Holy Scriptures. With the assistance from his family, Oliver continued to uncover Bible truths, one of which being what happens when a person dies, which gave him peace of mind in his later years.
Oliver lived a full life, but looked forward to what the Bible promises as "the real life." (1 Timothy 6:19)
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Elnora and Robert Nichols; siblings, Robert Nichols, Jr., Henry Nichols, Russell Nichols, and Larry June; nieces, Ramona Vializ Denson, and Donna M. Thornton.
Oliver leaves to cherish his fond memories: his sisters, Viola and Ida Nichols; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, including life-long friends Morris and Hope Washington.
