Olive (Darlene) Tapia (Steward) was born August 16, 1957 when our dear Lord took her home to heaven to on December 22, 2021.
Olive was born in Schenectady, New York to Billy Steward Sr. and Carmella Steward of Schenectady, NY. She had 10 brothers and sisters; Charyree (Bob) Massamillo, Linda (Butch) Chambers, Carol (Herbie) Stevens, Janice Steward, Billy Steward Jr., Tommy Steward, Debbie Steward, Carmella (Lala) Steward Cox, Harold Steward, and Paul Steward. Darlene also had several neices and nephews from Arizona to New York, and her sisters will miss their Facebook chats and so much more.
Olive was predecesed by her husband Mario Tapia, who a great man from Arzonia. They fell in love at first site and had two sons, Mario and Tony Tapia and several beautiful grandchildren whom she treasured and adored.
Darlene graduated from high school in Arizona where she worked for the Arizona school system. She enjoyed football, good music, and loved visiting with family. Darlene always stayed true to herself and to the people she loved. She lost alot in life but she gave even more. She never had a bad thing to say about anyone.
She enjoyed her family, her space, and did things her way and even at the end she went just as she wanted; no fuss, no regrets.
She was more than we can put into words. She was a sweet little skinny brown eyed girl is now in our hearts and memories forever. She earned her wings and will be missed by all of us. In her memory, we should all take some time to play her favorite song, make her favorite dish, laugh about her funny stories, and honor her life. We pray that she keeps that beautiful smile rocking. She gave 100% of herself for others and was a loyal person until the end.
Now, go rest in peace little sis and have one for us. Tell Janice that milk isn't on the menu and Jack Daniels is! Haha. I'd bet there's going to be a reunion up in Heaven and what we would give to hear the stories at that reunion. I’m sure that we all would be laughing.
We all had to say our final goodbyes and on January 14, 2022 but we have peace in knowing that she will be reunited with her husband Mario on the anniversary of his passing some years ago. Now going forward, every January we will remember Olive and Mario and forever know in our hearts that love has a way of never letting go time sometimes. Love heals all. Rest In Peace Mario and Darlene Tapia. Many loved ones lost a beautiful soul.
