AUBURN — Norman "John" Rosener, age 95, of Auburn passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016, at his Auburn home. Mr. Rosener was born on August 30, 1920, in Woodburn to Frederich and Lila (Neuenschwander) Rosener. He graduated from Woodburn High School and worked from the age of 13 at Faulkner Garage, which he purchased in 1945. He married Kathryn Hooley on July 26, 1947, in Topeka. He was a farmer along with operating the garage. They moved to DeKalb County in 1967 where he later retired from farming. Mr. Rosener was also a volunteer firefighter with the Woodburn Fire Department for 25 years, serving as the fire chief for a number of the years. He enjoyed working on cars, going to swap meets and tractor shows. A collector of antiques before it was popular, he loved to tinker on watches and clocks and enjoyed tearing things apart, just to see how it worked. Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Rosener of Auburn; son, John Rosener of Huntertown; son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Patty Rosener of Pleasant Lake; daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Jeffrey Hall of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Angela and Mike Phillips, Scott and Lisa Rosener, Lori and Matt Young, Jennifer and Rey Garcia and Megan and Adam Prosser; 16 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frederick Rosener. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1801 North Main St., Auburn. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, from 3-7 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 South Center St., Auburn. Officiating will be Pastor Jonathan Nack. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn. Memorials may be directed to the ACD Museum, 1600 Wayne St., Auburn and Trinity Lutheran Church.
