Page, Norma JeanNorma Jean Page, age 89, of Hershey, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence in Harrisburg, PA. She was born on February 10, 1928 in Barton, New York (Tioga County) to the late Fred and Florence (Barr) Wiggins.Norma was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister and was a wonderful friend to many. She spent many years working as a secretary, including a long stint as the executive secretary for the President of Sears Roebuck Company in Atlanta, GA. All her life, she engaged in creative pursuits. When she was in her 20's and 30's, she wrote a series of poems, two of which were published by the Ideals Publishing Company in Wisconsin and in local newspapers. In her 40's and 50's, she enjoyed crafting macramé and in her later years, she completed a series of oil paintings. She was also an avid reader, traveler, and loved games of all kinds including puzzles, word games, board games and bingo. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and in recent years, she especially enjoyed the time she spent coloring and playing games with her great-granddaughter. Norma is survived by her daughter, Laurie Root (Mike) of Greenville, TN; her siblings, Bob Wiggins (Marge) of Sebring, Florida and Shirley Kilker (Pat) of Windsor, New York; five grandchildren, Melody Bennett of Los Angeles, CA, Tech. Sgt. Joshua Rickert of Albuquerque, NM, Justin Sims (Jessica) of Harrisburg, PA, Jerimy Sims of Hershey, PA, and Ashli Jones (Doug) of Greenville, TN; and two great-grandchildren, Georgia Rae Sims and Turner Colt Sims. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Fred Bennett; her daughter, Jeri Sims; her sisters, Betty Rice, Laurel Rudin, Doris Everette and Barbara Dutcher; and brothers, Malcolm Wiggins and Stanley Wiggins.Interment will be held at a later date at the Nichols Family Cemetery, New York. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Central Pennsylvania Cremation Society, 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. Memorial donations in memory of Norma may be made to Carolyn Croxton Slane Hospice Residence, 1701 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17110.
