Norma Jean Hatch, 84, of Sterling passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 in Sterling, CO. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, September 24 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Kroeger officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Norma was born on April 23, 1932 in Guernsey, Iowa to William Albert and Viola Mae (Richards) Neitzel. She went to school in Guernsey and graduated with a GED from Northeastern Junior College. She married Gerald Meril Rutherford in October of 1949. Gerald passed away in 1974. In May of 1988, she married Gordon Hatch. She loved hummingbirds, crafts, music, dancing, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and friends. Norma is survived by sons Jerry M. Rutherford of Nashville, TN and Michael Rutherford and wife Kim of Golden, CO, daughters Bonnie Robinson and husband Scott of Atlantic City, WY, Angela Rutherford and Clark Pomeroy of Sterling, and Pamela Bacon and husband John of Sterling, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Viola, 3 brothers: Cecil, Dale, and Marlin Neitzel, husband Gerald, husband Gordon, grandson Michael Eugene Rutherford, daughter-in-law Janice Linda Rutherford.
