Noel GarrettFeb. 23, 1922 - Dec. 4, 2016 Noel Garrett, 94 passed away on December 4, 2016 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Stockton, CA. He was born on February 23, 1922 in Arkansas to Harley Harry Garrett, and Mary Jane Garrett. He served 3 ½ years in the Army/Air Corps and received an honorary discharge in 1945. Noel was a registered gemologist and watchmaker who retired from Borelli Jewelers in Stockton in 1987. An avid reader, Noel traveled the world via his books. Fishing was his favorite pastime and he readily shared this love with anyone who wanted to tag along. He was also an outstanding artist and many of his paintings are enjoyed by family and friends. Noel donated more than 25 gallons of blood through the Delta Blood Bank. Noel and his wife Kathryn were charter members of Great Valley Baptist Church where they were loved by young and old alike. Noel is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Albert, Glenn, Arthur and Robert, and sister Betty Heinen, all of Seattle, WA. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Kathryn, sister Sue Garrett of Seattle, daughter Conni Smith of Stockdale, TX and his son Douglas of Phoenix, AZ, as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the Great Valley Baptist Church Bus and Children's Ministry: 1520 W. Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA 95209. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at 11 am at Great Valley Baptist Church, 1520 W. Hammer Lane, Stockton, CA 95209. Inurnment will be private.
