Nina L. Madison, age 55, of Edwardsville, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 12:20 p.m., after a courageous battle with cancer. Her devoted husband was by her side. She was born on May 30, 1961, in Highland, IL, the daughter of the late Roland and Wanda (Fry) Schoenleber. Nina married her high school sweetheart, Richard D. Madison II on August 18, 1979, at Zion Lutheran Church in Carpenter, Illinois. In addition to her husband, Nina is also survived by a son, Richard P. Madison & wife, Marci, of Holiday Shores; a daughter, Christi N. Sheroky & husband, Brett, of Nashville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Richard T. Madison, Colton R. Madison, Averie L. Madison, Madelyn N. Sheroky, Morgan R. Sheroky and a grandson due in March; two sisters, Iris Schoenleber of St. Peter's, Missouri, Dawn Schoenleber of Worden, Illinois. Nina worked for the City of Edwardsville before going on to a career as a real estate appraiser for Al Mikes Appraisals. Nina was an amazing, selfless woman, who was always smiling. She genuinely cared for everyone and was an incredible wife, mother, grandma and friend. She loved going on walks, traveling with her husband, family and friends, but more than anything she loved to spend time with her grandchildren. The family asks that you spend time with your family, go on a vacation with your loved ones, and continue to smile, because this would be Nina's wish for you. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home in Edwardsville. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 7, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in Carpenter, with Rev. Heath Curtis officiating.
