Nilda Stewart, born December 07, 1932 in Minas Uruguay and long time resident of Honolulu, Hawaii, United States, passed Tuesday, July 07, 2020 at the age of 88.
Known as "Nona" to some "Nileka" to others, she was the driving force of her family. She had many hobbies she turned into successes, from nursing, cosmetology, fashion design, tourism and travel. Her favorite however, and what she is best known for was dance. Nilda did all things with perfection. She thrived to be the best at whatever she set her mind to. She graduated from the University of Hawaii in Hilo with a degree in Hotel Management & Tourism in addition to becoming a professional Spanish Flamenco dancer. Nilda truly knew how to have fun and enjoy life while still exceeding her personal goals. She loved to travel and lived in multiple areas throughout her life but her heart belonged in Hawaii. She felt most at home by the ocean. The wind in her hair while hearing the sounds of the sea, that was where she felt most at peace.
Although she battled many ailments in recent years, through it all she remained feisty and strong. She is survived by her three daughters known as Destiny, Charito & Hokulani, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Nilda will be greatly missed but her spirit will live on.
Aloha‘oe, until we meet again...
