Nicholas Edward Schmidt-Gobel, AKA Schmitty Age 26, of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on October 1, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones. Nicholas was born on August 8th, 1991, 10 weeks early, at Mary Bridge Hospital in Tacoma. He attended Life Christian Academy and Ballou Jr High, and graduated from Gov. John R. Rogers High School in Puyallup, Washington. A compassionate, thoughtful, loving, articulate, and brilliant young man, Nicholas was a beacon of light and an example to all that knew him. He had a kind, gentle and an old soul. Very giving and loving. He loved his family, friends, pets, and Star Wars. His passions were acting, golf, reading, music, singing and playing the guitar, and hanging with his family and friends. He had an amazing sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was the anchor of our family and his friends. Nicholas hated confrontation. He would give you the shirt off his back and was always there for everyone, no matter what or where. His final act of giving was donating his organs to help others. He is survived by his parents Gary and Teresa Johnson, Bradley Gobel, his brothers Gary Johnson, Jr. and Dylan Johnson, his Papa and Mamo, Gerald and Judy Schmidt, grandparents William and Judy Gobel, and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins (too many to name). The memorial service will be held on Monday, October 16, 2017, at 11:00 AM Life Center Church, 1717 S. Union Ave, Tacoma, WA 98405. Reception immediately following. Remembrances may be shared at
