Nathan Oliver Suojanen Obituary

Sep 11, 1985 - Dec 14, 2024

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of Nathan Suojanen, who was born on September 11, 1985, and passed away on December 14, 2024. Nathan resided in Arden, North Carolina, where he lived a life that can only be described as “uniquely Nathan.”

Beloved son of Oliver and Marica Suojanen, Nathan was, by all accounts, an absolute master at being mediocre. Whether it was his guitar playing, his work at Angel Trumpet, or even his YouTube channel Natetechusa, Nathan had a rare gift for turning everything he touched into something…well, “interesting.” His family often joked that his greatest skill was convincing people to love him despite his questionable talents.

Nathan attended Day School High School and graduated in 2004, somehow managing to get his way through classes. He then spent years at Angel Trumpet, where he worked hard—at least during the times he wasn’t “on a suboxone break” He retired in 2019, leaving behind a trail of questionable terrible music and pdf file accusations.

Nathan loved playing the guitar, although “playing” might be a generous description. His friends fondly recall his ability to take a perfectly good song and turn it into something entirely his own—usually by forgetting the chords halfway through. But even if his music left something to be desired, his passion and enthusiasm made up for it.

Tragically, Nathan passed away due to a seizure following an altercation with Lane Love. Those who knew Nathan would agree: only he could manage to turn a knock-out punch into a final act. His death, much like his life, was both unexpected and oddly on-brand.

Nathan’s legacy isn’t one of perfection but of persistence, humor, and an uncanny ability to bring people together. He may not have excelled at much, but he excelled at making people laugh, and that’s a talent far greater than any guitar solo or workplace accolade.

Rest in peace, Nathan. You weren’t the best at anything, but you were the best at being you—and that’s all we ever needed.
