Nathan Matthew JewellAge: 39 • Summerville, South CarolinaNathan Matthew Jewell of Summerville, South Carolina passed away unexpectedly June 2, 2017 at the age of 39. He was born on June 15, 1977, the son of Gary and Faye Jewell. Nathan attended Essex High School, Hyde School in Bath, Maine and The Marine Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida. In 2004 Nathan married his soulmate Kara O'Shaughnessy. Nate's greatest joys were boating, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and enjoying the great outdoors. His greatest accomplishments were his children Kamryn and Riley with whom he spent endless hours boating on the lake and watching them play basketball and soccer. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. Nathan worked as a Site Manager for Global Maritek Enterprises, an Affiliated Contractor for Homeland Security at the Federal Training Center in Charleston, SC. He enjoyed his challenging work and was considered the go to person on complex problems. He will be missed by all who worked with him because of his expertise and willingness to assist anyone in need on any of the multiple programs he supported. As many friends, outside of work will attest, Nathan would work at anything needing repair for himself and others. Prior to working at Global Maritek, Nathan worked as a Site Superintendent in new home building, development & construction.In addition to his loving wife, Nathan is survived by his children Kamryn and Riley, his father Gary Jewell and wife Marie, mother-in-law Laura Murphy, father-in-law Sean O'Shaughnessy, sister Heather Cory, sister Jennifer Whitney and husband Ryan, sister-in-law Michelle Esson and husband Vincent, brother-in-law Ryan O'Shaughnessy, and sister-in-law Amy Jewell. He is also survived by many special aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Nathan was predeceased by his mother Faye Jewell and brother Corey Jewell. A memorial service will be held at Essex Alliance Church, 37 Old Stage Rd., Essex, VT 05452 on Saturday June 10th at 11:00am. A reception at the church will follow.
