Nancy Elizabeth Murphy, 74, passed away on October 9, 2013 in Juneau, Alaska. She was born on February I, 1939 in Auburn, Washington. Her mother was Jewel Orazio.Nancy's passion was her Christian ministry and served with her mother as a missionary to Guam.She loved to sing and play music and was one of the worship leaders at Glacier Valley Church of God. She also organized and led a women's group, the Circle of Light, that sang for community events and did community service work.Nancy sang and ministered at various places in Juneau-Lemon Creek Correctional Center, Mountain View Senior Center, Fireweed Place, the Pioneer Home and Wildflower Court.Nancy was preceded in death by her husband Arnie Murphy, her mother Jewel; her sisters Joy Hurst and Adrienne Tracy; her grandmother, Gertrude Milbourn; and her daughter, Julie Reel.She is survived by her brothers, Michael Orazio and his wife, Karen of Juneau and Donald Goring of Oakland, Ca.; Sons, Mark Smith, David Smith and his wife Jana, and Paul Smith all from Astoria, Oregon and Ethan Smith of Juneau; Daughters, Lori Humphries of Warrenton, Oregon and grandchildren, Nathaniel, Luke, Brandon, Faith, Jacob, Sara, Christina , Michael, Tara, Elisa, and Seth.
