Uphold, Nadine Areatta,81, of Louisville was born on March 26, 1936 in Portland, OR., to the late Earl and Caroline (Scott) Hewitt and passed from this life on September 25, 2017. Nadine was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant for Spaid Nursing Service. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Uphold; a son, David Uphold; and a daughter, Debra Wright. Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Michael Uphold and Stephen Uphold (Vickie); a daughter Diane Sermon (Eddie); granddaughter Tiffany Montgomery (Joshua); grandson, Donnie Uphold; brother, Scott Hewitt; half-brothers, Clarence and James Van Buren; half-sister, Georgia Williams; 6-grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. A service for Mrs. Uphold will be held at noon on Saturday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with cremation to follow. Visitation will be from 2-8 pm on Thursday and Friday and after 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial gifts may be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
