Mrs. Myrtle Combs Gilley of Jefferson died on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. She was 86.

Mrs. Gilley was born on Sept. 29, 1928 in Jefferson to John Bud and Ettie Sexton Combs.

Mrs. Gilley was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening.

Mrs. Gilley was preceded in death by her parents and two sons, David Gilley and Steven Gilley.

Mrs. Gilley is survived by her husband, George E. Gilley; four daughters: Linda (Ronnie) Massey of Crumpler, Barbara Baker of Warrensville, Christine (Sammy) Mullis of Jefferson and Penny Rose of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; son, Lonnie (Kimberly) Gilley of West Jefferson; sister, Emma Rink of Wilkerson; also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015 at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel by the Rev. Jim Greer. Entombment followed in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum of Prayer.
