Rose Dora Johnson, affectionately known as Mama Rose, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2024, at the age of 101 in Palmetto, Florida. Born on November 3, 1923, Mama Rose lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a pillar of strength, kindness, and wisdom in her community and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of crossing paths with her. Mama Rose's loving spirit and unwavering resilience will be cherished and remembered for years to come. May she rest in peace. She was a loving and beautiful and devoted wife to the late Jerry Johnson for over 88 years where they welcomed (5) loving children. She was a loving and devoted church member of Faith Temple Church palmetto fl under the leadership of ( Presiding Bishop & Chief Apostle) Tanya E Johnson Matthews. Mama Rose earned the name The Longest Living community leader in 2010. In her final days she was still a worshiper she loved the Lord she was kind to everyone who came in contact with her she was a shouting woman for the Lord even at 101 years old . Her theme song and favorite song was ( When I see Jesus amen) and ( when the gates swing open) . Mama Rose earned the name Mama Rose by her community by becoming the oldest person to stay on her Street and longest community figure and mom figure to many. In 2005 she retired from the commissioner and community board leader and gave it to her youngest daughter her last child ( Dr. Rachel Johnson - Golden). The day she passed she passed in her sleep with all her children by her side she passed in her youngest daughter arms. She is pronounced in death by : her husband of 88 years The late Jerry Johnson and her mother : Willie Mae, father: Willie , and (3) sisters: Pearl, Shirley, and Eileen and(2) Brothers: Roy and Leonard and many more loved ones. She leaves her loving warm smile heart and spirit too (5) children: (4) daughters: Mother Shirley, Mother Beverly, Mother Mamie, and Dr. Rachel Johnson - Golden. And (1) son : Robert. And (14) grandchildren: (8) girls: Michelle, Taylor,Kim, and Kimberly,Evette, and Van, Deborah,Dora, and (6) boys: Troy, Richard, Mark,and Douglas,A.J.,Tony. And (14) Great Grandchildren and 17 Great Great Grandchildren and (2) Youngest Sisters: Gwen, Gloria and (1) Brother: Rev. David and (11) Godchildren and a host of nieces nephews and family members and church family
