It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Morris Brown. He was born on August 23, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Emitt Calvin Brown and Vera Maude Brown. Morris passed away on January 23, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 68. He is survived by his loving daughter Kate Marie Carter, his grandson Bishop M. Carter, and his siblings Cathy, Kimberly, Randall, Alicia, and Frelimo. Many nieces and nephews also loved him dearly.
Morris was a remarkable person who excelled at many things and never hesitated to share that with others. He was an entrepreneur who explored many ventures and was always willing to take risks. His intelligence stood out, matched only by his creativity and passion for learning.
Morris had a love for many things. He enjoyed playing billiards, was a decent shot, and always sought out a good book. His inventive spirit kept him eager to explore new ideas. He was a true fan of science fiction, enjoying everything from Battlestar Galactica to Species, but he could also have long conversations about Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and The Lord of the Rings. He was the kind of person who could offer help and challenge you in the same moment, often leaving you wondering if you were the one who should apologize. Calling him well-read and eclectic does not fully capture his character, but it is a start.
Morris faced many challenges in life but remained resilient, optimistic, and full of imagination. His presence always commanded attention. He will be remembered for his sharp humor, confidence, generosity, and, most of all, his deep pride in his daughter Kate.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate his life. May he rest in peace. His spirit and endless curiosity will be missed, and those who knew him were truly fortunate.
