TOPEKA — Monroe "Sonny" Beachey, age 59, of Topeka, Indiana, passed away suddenly on Friday, April 1, 2016. He was born on Oct. 5, 1956, in LaGrange County, Indiana, to the late Alvin and Mary (Yoder) Beachey. On June 4, 2005, he married Anita Flannery. She survives. Sonny spent time in Fairmount, Indiana, for the James Dean Festival. His collection of show cars was something he took pride in. His love for his granddaughter showed through and through. He may have teased his nieces and nephews, but he had the heart to care for everyone in his family. Sonny will be remembered as the guy who liked everybody and everybody liked him. He will be missed by his wife of 11 years, Anita (Flannery) Beachey of Topeka, Indiana; a stepson, Casey J. (Stefanie) Dermont of Warren, Ohio; a granddaughter; Nealy Dermont of Warren, Ohio; three brothers, Ernest (Lil) Beachey of Fisher, Illinois, Willie Beachey; of Kokomo, Indiana, and Louie (Sara) Beachey of Topkea, Indiana; and 13 nieces and nephews. Sonny is preceded in death by his mother and father; his sisters, Katie White and Martha Yoder; and two sisters-in-law, Charlette Beachey and Edna Beachey. A funeral service will be held in Sonny's honor on Friday, April 8, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the Eden Worship Center, 4095 S. C.R. 900W, Topeka, Indiana (the old Honeyville School). Pastor Harold Gingerich will officiate. An hour of visitation will take place prior to the service on Friday. Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Eden Worship Center . Yeager Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
