Monica Marie Poole was born on February 7, 1954, to the loving union of Roy and Eula Snaer in Chicago Illinois.
Monica accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized under the Catholic faith. She received her formal education in Chicago Public Schooling. Monica attended William H. Ryder Elementary and Harlan High School, where she graduated with the class of ‘72 as their Prom Queen.
Monica met Jeffrey Robinson and the two conceived her first child, Jeffrey Leonadus “Leon” Robinson in 1969.
As time progressed, Monica met and married Robert Poole in the early ’70s. Shortly after, they would conceive her second son, Robert Demone Poole commonly known as “Demone” in 1975.
Monica and Robert would soon divorce. Monica packed her bags, put both her boys on each hip, and moved her family to Los Angeles, California in 1979. In Los Angeles, Monica reunited with her mother Eula Snaer, brother Roy Snaer Jr., sister Yvonne and, her husband Derrick Smedley.
Monica had a few different jobs in her lifetime and all were centered around helping people in one way or another. Her career started off working with children with disabilities in Chicago. When she moved to Los Angeles she sold insurance and did nails on the side bringing joy to each and every customer she served. Monica was also a healer, she kept her family and friends healthy with her “Magic Silver Water” while also becoming a phenomenal Paralegal practicing for over 20 years at Attorney Robert Lott and Associates. This lady knew how to get her hustle on!
As with everything Monica did, she did it with love and grace, and being a grandmother was no exception. Monica became a grandmother in 1989 when Jeffrey Kendle Robinson was born and then again in 1995 with the birth of Kennedi Maria Robinson from her eldest son, Jeffrey along with Earnestine Robinson. Monica welcomed more love into her life when she met and married the love of her life, Mr. Edward Burrus. The two were together for over 20 years before Edward lost his battle with cancer in 2011.
Monica Marie Poole departed this life on Sunday, January 19, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Eula Snaer, husband Edward Burrus, brother Roy Snaer Jr., nephews Roy III, and Kelly Washington. She leaves her love and memory to cherish to her; two sons Jeffrey L. Robinson, Robert D Poole, grandchildren Jeffrey Kendle Robinson and Kennedi Maria Robinson, sister and brother-in-law Yvonne and Derrick Smedley, niece and nephew Nalani and Richard York, nephew Craige Snaer and a host of cousins, great nieces-nephews, and countless friends.
Monica Marie Poole is truly missed!
