AUBURN — Molly Pomeroy, age 96, of Auburn passed away on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn. Mrs. Pomeroy was born on May 31, 1920, in London, England, to Prciual and Grace Mary (Foster) Watson. She met her future husband, a soldier from the United States, during World War II and came back to the states with him after the war. In the early 1980s she met the requirements and was proud to become a United States citizen. She married that soldier, Clair Pomeroy, on April 9, 1944, in London. He preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2000. Mrs. Pomeroy worked at Messenger Corporation in Auburn for 20 years, retiring in the mid 1980s. She belonged to the War Bride Association and enjoyed spending time at the Heimach Center in Auburn. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Warren and Sally Pomeroy of Grabill and Jeffrey Pomeroy of Auburn; four grandchildren, Michelle and Jerry Doehrman of Butler, Lori and Scott Gross of Grabill, Ben and Deanna Pomeroy of Auburn and Marci and Mike Gustin of Hudson; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Clair Pomeroy; a son, Barry Pomeroy; four brothers, Kenneth Watson, Jack Watson, Fred Watson and Harry Watson; and three sisters, Joan Karell, Betty Vargo and Jessie Doyle. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Feller and Clark Funeral Home in Auburn is in charge of arrangements.
