Minnie Borders Degree, 88, of Shelby, North Carolina, passed on August 18, 2023. Minnie was born on May 06, 1935. She was born May 6, 1935 in Cleveland County to the late Ben Borders and the late Ceonia Lattimore Jackson. She was a member of J.W. Abernathy Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willie James Degree, step-father Paul Jackson, siblings Robert Lee Jackson, Mary Ann King, John Jackson and Teresa Brooks.

She leaves to cherish loving memories her children Dianne Borders Clemons of Gastonia, NC, Bernice (Jerry Williams) Borders Smyre of Statesville, NC, Bernard Degree of Deltona, Fl., and Ta’Nisha (Howard) Wilson Jr of Conover, NC; her siblings Egean Williams, Dorothy (Bobby) Gaston, Randy Jackson, Jessie Jackson, Paul (Deloris) Jackson Jr. all of Shelby, NC, Isiah Wilson of Verona, Pa.; one aunt Neil Surratt of Shelby, NC; special friends Dale Eskridge and Franklin McKnight; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends.

The graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 2:00PM at Milford center Cemetery in Otsego County, New York, Bob Wilson Rd, Oneonta, NY 13820 with Elder Quintarro Smith of Greater Hope Ministries, Gaffney, SC officiating and the Reverend Reggie Longcrier of Exodus Outreach Ministries Eulogist.
