Min Burkhammer Shortly after midnight on Thursday, August 31st, Min Burkhammer danced out of this world and into another while surrounded by her loved ones. She was 62 years young. Min was born on March 17, 1955 in Seoul, Korea. She married the love of her life, Ken Burkhammer, in 1977. They had two amazing children, traveling the world with them while in the military. Ken retired in 1990 and the family settled into civilian life in Spanaway, dedicating their remaining years to fostering their family and running their business, Don's Drive-In. So many hand-spun milkshakes were served to so many smiling faces. Min was a supportive mother, wife, and friend, with a great passion for family. She spent her spare time with friends foraging for fruits and vegetables to share with others. She loved nothing more than to make you smile. Her love of family and her strong commitment to them was her sole focus. After losing her beloved Ken in 2015, Min spent her final years surrounded by her family, until losing her year-long battle with cancer. Min is survived by her daughter and grandson, Gina Burkhammer and Khalil McCleary; and her son and daughter-in-law, Shawn and Diane Burkhammer. Five years to the day that she and Ken shared a dance at Shawn and Diane's wedding, Min and Ken are together once again, dancing above us. Reunited, at last. A memorial will take place on September 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd SW, Lakewood, WA 98499, followed by her burial at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St, Kent, WA 98042 at 1:15 pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Burkhammer' life.
