FAIRBORN — Miles R. Bednasek, age 90 of Hamilton, passed away on Monday January 25, 2016 at Berkeley Square Retirement Community. He was born on September 5, 1925 in WaKeeney, KS, the son of the late Charles and Edella (Kvasnicka) Bednasek. On June 27, 1948, he married Margie E. Slipsager in Topeka, KS and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2014. Miles served in the United States Army during WWII and retired from Wright Patterson Air Force Base after over 30 years as a computer programmer. During the past nine years at Berkeley, he stayed involved in many activities. In June of 2014 he was able to fulfill his wish of joining other veterans in Washington, DC as part of Honor Flight. Miles is survived by his three children, Steven (Janet) Bednasek, Gary (Rebecca) Bednasek and Sherri (Dale) Hinrichs; six grandchildren, Christy, Kelly, Jason, Rachel, Colleen and Chris; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Bednasek. A Celebration Luncheon will be held from 12pm until 2pm on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Theobald Hall at Berkeley Square Retirement Community, 100 Berkley Drive, Hamilton. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Miles' name to either Colonial, 100 Berkley Drive, Hamilton, OH 45013 or Honor Flight Dayton, 525 Victory Road, Springfield, OH 45504.
