Funeral services for Mildred Louise "Mauldin" Matlock, 85, of Plainview will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at College Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home. A visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mildred passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, in Plainview. She was born on Sept. 21, 1931, in Plainview, Texas, to Pete and Vinnie Mauldin. She married Jimmy Lee "Jim" Matlock on May 17, 1952, in Portales, N.M. Mildred loved to paint pictures and loved to rock and arrowhead hunt. She was an avid bowler and qualified for national bowling tournaments. She was a member of High Plains Gem & Mineral Society and College Heights Baptist Church. She enjoyed her animals and quilting. She is survived by her husband, Jim Matlock; one son, Jerry Matlock and wife Lorri of Plainview; one daughter, Paula Ritz and husband Reis of Midland; three grandchildren, Laiken Matlock of Lubbock, Chas Gauthier and wife Stephanie of Midland and Lacy Connally and husband Justin of New Braunfels and two great-grandchildren.
