We are sad to announce the passing of Mikel Nelson, a beloved Partner, friend, brother, father, and grandfather. Mike had a love for life that was infectious, and he could always be counted on to tell a joke or offer a listening ear. Mike was born on June 14, 1959 in Tuscan, Arizona to his parents Don and Jean Nelson(Larry Anderson). Although he spent most of his life in Broome County, NY. He leaves behind a loving family, including his partner in life, five children, and four grandchildren.

Sarah Nelson, Charskilynn Nelson(Shanon), Dylan Nelson(Paul), Abigail Galusha, and Nevaeh Nelson.

Chloe, Tanner, Zoey, and Brendalyn.

Mike will always be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and his love for bird watching, and being outdoors. He enjoyed tinkering with his “toys” and spending time with his grandchildren. He had a knack for bringing people together and creating joyful memories that will last a lifetime.

Despite his battles with COPD/Emphysema, Mike never lost his zest for life and his ability to make those around him laugh. He was a true fighter until the very end.

While we mourn the loss of Mike, we also celebrate the memories he brought into our lives. Despite his struggles, he never lost his sense of humor or his love for life. Rest in peace, Mike Nelson. You will be deeply missed.
