Michael Seal Moody, Jr.LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette for Michael Seal Moody, Jr., age 54, who died at 11:02 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at his residence. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Nick Carroll, Pastor of Our Savior's Church Midtown in Lafayette will conduct the funeral services. Survivors include his wife of 20 years, Angela Ehalt Moody; one daughter, Brandi Moody; two sons, Tye Moody and his wife Kandice and Jonathon Moody; his mother, Sandra Sibley Melancon; his father, Michael S. Moody Sr., three grandchildren, Makylah Rae Moody, Talhon Joseph Moody and Emily Anne Moody; three sisters, Debbie Sorcic, Mary Moody Scarborough and her husband Mark and Carrie Moody Robicheaux and her husband Chad; numerous nieces and nephews; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Betty Martin; one brother-in-law, Leonard Ehalt and his wife Heidi.He was preceded in death by his step father, Leon Patrick Melancon and father-in-law, Andrew Ehalt. Michael S. Moody Jr. was born on November 20, 1962 in Bogalusa, Louisiana and was a resident of Rayne, Louisiana for many years. He loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and took great pride in barbecuing for family gatherings. Mr. Moody enjoyed sports, especially baseball and was also well known as "Coach Mike". He loved to dance the Jitterbug and was a great dancer. Mr. Moody was employed as a General Manager for Tractor Supply Company. He will be sincerely missed by his family and friends.Pallbearers will be Tye Moody, Josh Sorcic, Blaise Thomas, Eric Sorcic, Seth Robicheaux and Brandon Morgan.The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
