Mike served the people of the state of Indiana as a trooper with dedication and honor. His years of experience and skill were relied upon by governors, the state police superintendents and his fellow officers. Mike was the president of the Indiana Troopers Association for many years. While he was president, the ITA was a successful organization that helped Troopers, underprivileged children and the families of fallen Troopers. Mike was an incredibly hard worker. While he was a Trooper and after his retirement, he owned and ran several successful businesses in northeastern Indiana. He was generous to others with his time and talent. Mike was most proud of his children. When he spoke of them and their accomplishments, which was often, he had a bent smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye.
