Michael Gregory Anderson, 73, of Detroit, Michigan, passed away on September 1, 2023, in Tuscon, Arizona. He was born on September 20, 1949, in Detroit, Michigan. Michael, a father, brother and Christian servant, will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
Michael is survived by his children, Miquail Anderson, Brandy Hodge, Tamiko Goodson, Christopher Anderson, Ephraim Anderson, Melanie Anderson, Tiffany Smith, Caleb Agnew, Michaela Anderson, and Matthew Anderson. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin Anderson and Dwayne Anderson.
Michael served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War, demonstrating unwavering dedication and bravery. He was awarded multiple honors during his time of service. His military associations were a significant part of his life, and his service will always be remembered.
A man of faith, Michael worshipped at the Seventh-day Adventist Church. He often found himself in service as a deacon or an elder. His spiritual journey brought him solace and strength throughout his life.
Beyond his military service and religious devotion, Michael had a wide range of hobbies that brought him joy. He had a talent for making soap, enjoyed watching western movies, had a knack for sparking conversations with strangers and was a 'jack of all trades.' These passions allowed him to connect with others.
Michael Gregory Anderson will be remembered for his sense of humor, his service to troubled youth and his love for R&B music from the 60s and 70s as well as Jazz. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.
