MichaelGeorge CogdellAug. 9, 1940 - Oct. 19, 2016GRAND PRAIRIE, TX - Mr. Michael George Cogdell, 76, of Grand Prairie, Texas, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at Arlington Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.He was born in south Bend, Indiana, and lived there much of his life. He moved to Grand Prairie, Texas in 2011. Michael, the eldest son of the late Katheryn and Adrain Cogdell, was born on August 9, 1940. In his youth he attended Perley Elementary School and Thomas Jefferson Middle School. Michael graduated from John Adams High School in 1957, and went on to attend Indiana University South Bend and graduated from ITT Technical Institute. He served 8 years in the United States Navy.On August 24, 1968, he and Carolyn S. Woods were united in wedlock.Michael retired from Xerox Corporation after 32 years of employment. During his tenure at Xerox, he was promoted to the position of Senior Technical Representative. He was avid sports fan, a long-time bowler, he enjoyed time with his family, trips to the library and was a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. He is survived by wife, Carolyn, five children and ten grandchildren.
