Mierswa, Michael G. Nov. 4, 1955 - Nov. 24, 2015 After a courageous battle with cancer, Michael passed away Nov 24, 2015 in Englewood, FL at the age of 60. He leaves behind his loving wife, Kathy, of 30 years, his 27 year old son, Michael, Jr., and his 19 year old daughter, Morgan. Mike was born on Nov 4, 1955 in Minneapolis, MN to Col. Myles & Carolyne Mierswa. He grew up as an army brat with brother, Myles, and sisters, Kathleen and Mary. Living around the world in Germany and several U. S. Army bases, Mike enjoyed travel and other cultures. During his travels as a horse groomer/trainer for the harness horse racing industry, Mike met and married Kathy who shared his love for animals. Together they've succeeded in their careers in horse racing, stained-glass work, real estate investing. Mike enjoyed his years as a Boy Scout leader, giving horse riding lessons, wood crafting, music, fishing and sunfish sailing. Services will be held at 11am Lemon Bay Funeral Home in Englewood, Fl on Sat Dec 5, 2015.
