Michael Kennedy, of Elkin, North Carolina, passed away on September 1, 2024, at the age of 68. He was born on May 1, 1956, to Richard and Betty Lou N. Kennedy.

Michael is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Katherine Kennedy, and their two children, John M. Kennedy (spouse Melissa H. Kennedy) and Matthew D. Kennedy (spouse Bobbie B. Kennedy). He was also adored by his grandchildren.

Michael was a proud graduate of Surry County Schools high school and served his country in the US Army. He worked at Penn Engineering Company and was known for his dedication and hard work.

Michael had many hobbies that brought him joy, including fishing, gardening, and hunting. He was also a true animal lover and found peace in nature.

Michael will be remembered for his warm smile, quick wit, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
