Castello, Michael 77, passed away surrounded by family on December 6, 2016, at his home following a long battle with cancer. Michael is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Bova) Castello. Mike leaves behind his wife, Rosemarie (Poggi), of 55 years; three daughters Laura Castello, Nancy Thomas (Glen) and Maria Mahant (Durshan), brothers Joseph Castello (Flo), Ignatius Castello (Ceil) and sisters, Lucille Castello, Mary Ann Caligiuri (Russ). Mike was blessed with six grandchildren; Michael James Castello, Ashley Colon, Julia Reddy (Andrew), Charlotte Thomas, Rachel Thomas and Felix Mahant and over thirty nieces and nephews. Mike was born on February 3, 1939, in Chicago, IL. In Mike's early years he worked on his father's milk truck. He served his country as a member of the National Guard. He also worked for Willett Trucking Company as a transport driver. In 1973, after he relocated to Florida he worked for TG Lee Dairy for 40 years. Mike enjoyed driving his 18-wheeler and his 1981 Corvette. He was a 4th Degree Knight, St. Augustine Council 15266 as well as a church usher and greeter. He played golf, listened to jazz music, served his community by volunteering at church functions and building houses for Habitat for Humanity and, most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family. Viewing will be at the National Cremation & Burial Society, 7565 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, FL 32765 on Friday, December 9, 2016, from 6-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 375 North Sunset Drive Casselberry, FL 32707 on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 9:00 A.M with a reception to follow at the Woman's Club of Casselberry, 251 Overbrook Drive Casselberry, FL 32707. Internment will be at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Drive Winter Park, Fl 32789 at 1:00 P.M.
