Merle Jean WeimortsMerle Jean Weimorts, 87, of Seminole, AL passed away on Sat., Oct. 22, 2016. She was born on March 20, 1929 to the late Joe J. and Susie Peters Crowder in Geneva City, AL. Merle was a proud homemaker. She enjoyed being at home with her family and being the best mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Weimorts; son, John M. Weimorts; and her parents.Merle is survived by her daughter Teresa (Michael) Whalen; son, Joe (Lilia) Weimorts; daughter-in-law, Sarah Weimorts; five grandchildren, Marshall (Paula) Weimorts, Jonathan Weimorts, Lia Nicole Weimorts, Aliece (David) Rockwell and Devin Dillard; seven great grandchildren, Austin Weimorts, Kyle Weimorts, Jacob Rockwell, Ben Rockwell, Jeptha Rockwell, Nathan Rockwell and Abigail Weimorts. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at Central Chapel Church with Pastor Phil Christopher officiating. Burial will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.The family will receive friends at 11:30 a.m. prior to services.
